FEAST FOR THE EYES

The pleasures of the dinner table do not lie with the food and drink alone. A beautifully set table is always agreeable. Delightsome china and glassware alongside handwritten place-cards, added to a delicate perfume of fresh flowers and a halcyon glow of candles, and the atmosphere will pine for a superb evening.

Rather like organising a wardrobe, setting the scene is a matter of building up layers: the room, the table, the drinks, the food. Colour, balance, and texture is the PIN code to tablescaping. Prehending a treasure trove of tablecloths and napkins, will ensure any table-scene, be it alfresco or formal, may be curated effortlessly. Idiosyncratic touches add whimsy to an otherwise predictable tabletop: bud vases at each place-setting, individual sea salt and peppercorn pots, napkin rings and scribed menu cards….. we could go on and further bore you.
